Topic: Sports technology development
The Exercise Physiology group at Ghent University in Belgium is looking for a (preferably) Post‐ Doctoral employee for a period of 1‐2 years to step into the valorization phase of the Muscle Talent Scan project. The project is in an advanced state and research collaborations with the most prestigious elite sport environments are established. The team is looking to expand with a technical profile to help develop muscle Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy in elite sport as a Software as a Service for talent identification, load management and injury prevention. The main task includes programming and optimization of acquisition and post-processing of in vivo calf muscle proton spectroscopy of healthy volunteers (athletes and team sport players). A PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related topic is highly desirable. Experience in MR acquisition and post- processing software (JMRUI/LC Model), preferably in muscle, is required. Experience with more than one of the different main vendor MR systems (Philips, Siemens, GE, Toshiba/Canon) and additional interest in (elite) sport and a talent in entrepreneurship is desirable. You will also have good communication, organizational and time management skills and a creative approach to problem solving, together with the ability to work constructively and effectively within the team
