Tom Evens is a Professor in Media Industries and Tech Policy at the Department of Communication Sciences at Ghent University, where he is also a senior researcher at the interdisciplinary research group Media, Innovation and Communication Technology (imec-mict). Tom specializes in the economics and policies of digital media and technology, with a particular interest in business models, streaming platforms and sports media rights. He has published widely on the (sports) media business in academic journals, and is the author of several books with MIT Press, Routledge and Springer.
