Philip Leroux received his masters degree in industrial science in electronics/ICT in 2003. In 2005, he obtained his masters degree in computer science from Ghent University, Belgium after which he started working as research engineer affiliated with the Department of Information Technology of Ghent University – imec. In 2007, he started a Ph.D. about the optimization and distribution of interactive personalized services, which was finished in 2012. Currently, he is working at the Internet and Data Lab as project coordinator and operational lead for several research tracks and projects in the context of smart cities research, IoT sensor data analytics and media data analytics.
