Damien Van Tiggelen is visiting professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at Ghent University (Belgium). He is a military officer (Lieutenant-Colonel) and in charge of the Center for Musculoskeletal Medicine & Rehabilitation of the Military Hospital Queen Astrid (Brussels, Belgium). He’s leading research projects on risk factors for overuse and traumatic injuries of the lower limb both in team sports and in tactical athletes. He conducted his PhD under the supervision of Prof Dr Erik Witvrouw on the prevention of patellofemoral pain in military recruits. He is a member of the steering committee of the CE program in Manual Therapy at the Ghent University and teaches manual therapy courses at the University of Louvain-La-Neuve and Liege (Belgium). Damien Van Tiggelen has (co)authored over 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications in the field of sports injuries and sports injury prevention.
