Patrick Calders is an assistant professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy where he leads a research team that investigates rehabilitation of internal diseases with focus on insulin resistance and genetic connective tissue disorders. Since 2004, he and his co-workers have now taken a lead in the research regarding exercise capacity and effects of exercise training in children and adults, with or without intellectual disability with insulin resistance. In a second research line, he and his co-workers have been investigating musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal problems in patients with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility type), a genetic connective tissue disorder.  Patrick Calders has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications in the above mentioned fields of interest.
